 What is a typical practice like?

  • I begin with 5ish minutes of introducing our topic, inspirations and contemplations, then we dive into the ACTUAL experience of it in 10-15 minutes of meditation and movement practices. 
  • The 20 minute movements included Anything from Yoga to Kundalini to Qi Gong to Breathwork each related to our current monthly topic
  • New themes each month become like mini-courses to explore ancient and new-age philosophy, psychology and science through the portal of you

These literally are my morning meds…or night time meds since I do them at night. On the vulnerable side…I’ve been in the process of weening off meds since 2018 (I have MDD but am about as recovered as possible),... I cut the last 10mg out this past Sunday. Here’s where meditation comes into it all…meditation offers me something significantly different than CBT. Yes CBT is great and has fueled the majority of my recovery, BUT…meditation (with Mikelle in particular, I used to think meditation was about controlling thoughts and that’s not it at all) is teaching me to just hold that darkness, to nurture that darkness, to make space for it, to love it while it is here and let it go when it walks away. It’s saying yes I feel like shit, and yes that is okay…because as mikelle had stated, as is known in Buddhism, suffering is an integral part of the human experience. So learning to sit with it, to be okay with it, and to HOLD it with no further cognitive or physiological attachment, rather than to run FROM it or let my mind run WITH it, that is the gift of meditation recently for me. Amongst a multitude of others lol. But that is why I am here. I can have suicidal ideation temporarily and just breathe and notice it, know it is a temporary visitor in my vessel, that this is life and that this too is okay. ❤️❤️❤️ sending love to you all today, thank you for being a part of my journey and for allowing me to be a part of yours!
